11 wins from 12 starts at Brands Hatch.
Works powered bikes dominated the Avon 350cc, WRR 500cc and the premier Bonhams 500cc classes at the final round of the Lansdowne Championship series at Brands Hatch this weekend. With engines running in three classes and four races over the weekend, there were twelve winning opportunities.
Race 1 was run in very wet conditions and all the riders complained that the track was extremely slippery, perhaps because of rubber from a recent touring car meeting. Works Racing's own Glen English on the SCC entered bike struggled for rear grip and could only manage 5th place at the end, but Dean Stimpson (Izzard Racing) and Mike Russell (Richard Adams Racing) managed to get their Works powered bikes on the podium behind the G50 of Alex Sinclair (Ripley Land) who excelled in the tricky conditions.
Works Racing Team unaffected by ‘Brexit’
Prime Ministers may be resigning, cabinets may be collapsing and European Parliaments may be in melt-down, but its business as usual for Works Racing.
Certainly the Team’s number one rider Glen ‘Glenda’ English seemed oblivious to the political carnage taking place in the United (just about) Kingdom as he cruised to victory in the opening Bonhams British historic GP race at Castle Coombe on Saturday. . . .
Works 500s dominate in Irish sunshine
This weekend saw the Works Team in action on the best road circuit of them all; Tandragee in Northern Ireland. The 5.35 mile track has everything a racer could ever want, jumps, dips, blind crests, a super-long straight with a flat out double kink in the middle and top gear blind corners aplenty.
Stunning debut for new Works Racing 4LS front brake at Pembrey.
This weekend saw a dozen or so Works-powered bikes compete in the 2016 CRMC season opener at Pembrey in Wales. Three days of testing and racing went ahead unhindered by shocking weather conditions.
